Which do you prefer, Human Physiology or Clinical Physiology?
How do we fight for this?
Greetings. I'd Like to appreciate this medium and put forward a question too. Both are necessary and important in the health sector in Nigeria today. What actually defines human physiology and how do we understand clinical physiology? It's a step by step procedure that anyone even a novice can follow judiciously. In Nigeria, we study Human Physiology, and taking it to the next level will call for a review in the curriculum of any University accommodating Physiology. This however will place the University heads or per se the Head of Department of Physiology in a spot he or she may not be able to measure up with.... but we can make them see the need. Let them know we are good and better children, good and better representatives of the department of Physiology. PSN also has to be involved oooo. All alumni should also join hands together and support. "asking for how to go about plans like these" ? Meet up with Alumni and remind them if they've forgotten, the relevance of the joining and support. It will be a bad thing if every year, every session, only incumbent students carry on the fight and struggle.
And lastly, both are good and if it is possible, both should be included in our scheme/curricular..
Clinical Physiology makes the course Physiology more practical than theorectical. So I prefer Clinical Physiology.
How to Go about this. People should be involved: 1. Fedral Government 2. State Governments 3. Ministers of Health and Education 4. Local government (not particulary compulsory %-) 5. PSN 6. Alumi 7. Lecturers of Physiology including the Heads of Department 8. Lecturers from other departments including their Heads of Departments 9. The various Deans (DEAN of student affairs especially). 10. The various Physiological chapter Executives. And finally the students studying this course. Other students from other departments can be informed as well...
Inorder to carry this out successfully, the proper definitions of Physiology as a course should be made available to these personalities listed above.
It is with sincere hope I pray it does come to fruition.
