Subsequent changes may be made to array the course outlines
for each level and such will be changed here. But in the mean time, this is the
course outline as organized by the Department of Physiology and the Faculty of
Basic Medical Sciences for continuous progress in the Academic sessions for
each student.
The above curriculum may be reviewed for Clinical purposes at
the National Medical Association (NMA), Nigeria, in conjunction with the
Student’s Physiological Association of Nigeria (SPAN), Nigeria for quality
academic studies and Enhanced professional Advantage.
Suggestions to course additions are being made and
re-structured and the following courses were suggested to be added to all
Departments of Physiology Nationwide even those already having these courses in
the scheme of studies are also urged to participate in this review of
curriculum.
·
Psychology
(2years minimum)
·
Sports
Physiology (a year minimum)
·
Health
Physiology (2 years)
·
Genetic
Physiology (Physiome)
·
Physiotherapy
studies
·
Patho-physiology
It was specified that Special topics in core courses be
merged and unit space created for other suggestive courses which will better
advance the training process of Physiologists in the Nigerian Health sector.
Be it as it may, proper and adequate research into these
suggestive courses and their socio-economic benefits must be entirely reviewed
on the part of the Students taking these courses so that if any suggestive
arguments should arise, then a preventive measure will be in order.
Corrections to the above course outline should be submitted
to the President SPAN, A.A.U chapter for verification or emailed to the
following address:
When sending in your message, please do specify your topic address
with a suitable heading/title which will spell out your full body message to
SPAN, A.A.U Chapter.
